Joe Brinkman, The Swim Advisor

Joe Brinkman brings extensive experience from a decade of coaching collegiate and club programs. His collegiate coaching journey includes serving as Head Coach at Boston College (2022-2024), Assistant Coach at the University of Notre Dame (2018-2022), and Assistant Coach at Stanford University (2016-2018). While at Stanford, he was part of the coaching staff that led the team to the 2017 Pac-12 Championship Throughout his 8-year NCAA Division I career, he played a pivotal role in developing 95 NCAA All-American honorees, 1 NCAA Champion, and 2 U.S. World Championship Qualifiers. Athletes at those programs broke 67 school records during his tenure.

Before his collegiate coaching career, Coach Joe served as the National Group Assistant Coach for Alto Swim Club in Palo Alto, California (2015-2018). During this time, he played an instrumental role in developing numerous National and Junior National qualifiers and National Top-10 Swimmers.

Coach Joe competed at the University of the Cumberlands, where he was a multi-time NAIA All-American and served as team captain during his Junior and Senior seasons. Throughout his career, he was twice nominated for the NAIA Champion of Character Award and was the recipient of the 2015 Mid-South Conference Champion of Character Award.

A native of Commerce Township, Michigan, Coach Joe continues to maintain his passion for the sport by swimming Masters and staying active in the swimming community.
